James H. "Barney" Edwards, 69, of Belleville, Ill., born Nov. 18, 1947, in Boulder, Ill., passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, Ill.
James served in the United States Army National Guard. He was formerly a dairy truck driver for Schenker and Prairie Farms. Over the years, he enjoyed camping, fishing, wood working and going on car rides. He will be remembered for his story-telling. He treasured the time he spent with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Dorothy, nee Yardley, Edwards; and brothers-in-law, David Adams and Elmer Isaak.
Surviving are his wife, Maxine Edwards, nee Sprehe, whom he married Aug. 24, 1968, in New Minden, Ill.; children, Kristi Edwards of Belleville, Ill., Kimberly (Oscar) Slater of Marshall, Ill., and James (Jess) Edwards of Belleville, Ill.; grandchildren, Jacob Slater and Kinsley Edwards; and siblings, Lois (Paul) Holthaus of Breese, Ill., Jane Adams of Patoka, Ill., and Janet Banks of Corning, Ark.
