James Allen

James R. Allen, 68, of Four Seasons, Mo., born Aug. 28, 1947, in Terre Haute, Ind., passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, at University Hospital in Columbia, Mo.

James earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and Eastern Kentucky University. He went on to earn his Master's Degree from Webster University in St. Louis, Mo.

James served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Cold War years of 1972 through 1992, when he was honorably discharged. After serving in the military for 20 years, James worked as a computer security specialist. He was a former board member and member of Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Temple in Springfield, Mo., and was the current Rajah of Lake Ozark Shrine Club, where he was a member. James was also a member of the Hickory Hill Masonic Lodge No. 211 in Eldon, Mo., and a member of Lake of the Ozarks Corvette Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan L. and Dorothy J., nee Tabor, Allen; and a son, Kristopher J. Allen.

Surviving are his wife of 491/2 years, Joyce, nee Wickiser, Allen, whom he married July 29, 1966, in Caseyville, Ill.; a son, Jeffrey Allen of Homestead, Fla.; a daughter, Kimberly Montgomery (Patrick Boyer) of Granite City, Ill.; a brother, Joseph Allen of Georgetown, Texas; seven grandchildren, Heather Montgomery, Bradley Allen, Michael Boyer, Kristopher Allen II, Natasha Boyer, Mikayla Allen and Aireyan Allen; along with several other relatives and friends.

Memorial donations are suggested to in St. Louis, Mo., or to Hickory Hill Masonic Lodge No. 211 in Eldon, Mo. Expressions of sympathy may be placed online at www.hedgesscottfuneralhomes.com.

Visitation: The family will receive friends for visitation from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Osage Beach, Mo.

Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at the funeral home. Reception to follow services at the funeral home.
