Jane L. Petroff, nee Fields, 80, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born March 5, 1929, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Mrs. Petroff was a nurse at the Incarnate Word Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., from 1947 to 1951, the Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, Texas from 1951 to 1953. She was president and founder of Mobil-Air Transport Service Inc., which she established in 1963. She was a homemaker and devoted to her family and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caseyville, Ill. Jane loved her 9 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond J. and Gladys, nee Halsip, Fields Sr.; sister and brother, June Lee Schwarz and Raymond J. Fields Jr.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas G. Petroff Sr., whom she married Jan. 3, 1952; children, Thomas G. (Judith) Petroff Jr., of Fairview Heights, Ill., Steven R. (Sandra) Petroff of Collinsville, Ill., Edward P. (Debra) Petroff of Fairview Heights, Ill., Theresa M. (James) Reagh of Shiloh, Ill., and Janice Petroff of Fairview Heights, Ill.; sister, Wilma Jean (Roy) Fisher of Mount Vernon, Ill., and two sisters-in-law, Eileen Petroff of Fairview Heights, Ill., and Mary Fields of Caseyville, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at Herr Funeral Home in Caseyville, Ill.
Funeral: Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Caseyville, Ill., with Father Joe Rascher officiating. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
