Janette Marie Lucas, nee Ardison, 81, of Collinsville, Ill., born July 10, 1934, in Collinsville, Ill., passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016, at her residence with her family by her side.
Mrs. Lucas was employed at Kresge Department Store in East St. Louis, Ill. as a young girl; she also worked at JJ Newberry's in Downtown Collinsville as a window dresser, Fred Clothing Store, and a volunteer at St. Peter & Paul School Cafeteria. She was also involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts as a Den Mother and Den Leader. She was a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, Ill. She was a stay at home mom who loved reading anything historical, doing puzzles, and loved being outside doing yard work. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Roger"Lucas, whom she married on May 24, 1952, in Randolph County, Ark., and who died on July 5, 2009; her parents, John Baptist and
Birdie Elizabeth, nee Body, Ardison.
Surviving are her children whom she loved very much, John Edward Lucas of Jamestown, N.C., Elizabeth A. (Scott) Adams of Collinsville, Ill. and Judith A. (Bill) Perrin of Imperial, Mo.; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jason) Wolf of Chicago, Ill., Michelle (Chuck) Witthaus of St. Louis,
Mo., Keith Wrigley and Kevin Wrigley both of Collinsville, Ill., Cole Perrin of Imperial, Mo., Christopher Adams of Collinsville, Ill., Amie (Beau) Davis of Cheney, Kan., and Carrie (Jake) Dalton of St. Louis, Mo.; great grandchildren, Evan, Ethan, Grant, Ian, Colin, Seth, Jacob, James, Beau Jr., Morgan; a baby girl due in July; and a sister, Jeanne Ronco of Litchfield, Ill.

Funeral: A Funeral service will be held at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill., with Fr. John Beveridge officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
