Jay M. Schreiber, 20, of Highland, Ill., born Aug. 1, 1987, in Maryville, Ill., died at 8:35 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at the intersection of Lee Road and Schumaker Road in St. Rose Township in Clinton County, Ill.
Mr. Schreiber was a Builders Bloc carpenter working in commercial construction. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, Ill., and the Carpenters Local 1535 in Edwardsville, Ill. Jay graduated from Central High School in Breese, Ill., where he was active in FFA and Soccer. He was in a bowling league at V& H Bowl, Breese, Ill., and was a member of Clinton County Saddle Club. Jay was always on the go, loving the outdoors especially horseback riding, snow mobiling and deer hunting with Jayne. He also enjoyed fishing, four wheeling, and dove hunting with family and friends. He looked forward to the Combine Derby and the Eminence Horse Trail Ride every year. He also was a Tony Stewart and NASCAR fan. He loved spending time and playing with his niece and nephew. Jay was a dedicated son, brother, uncle and friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Theodore H. Tebbe.
Surviving are his mother, Helen A., nee Tebbe, (fiance, Mike Walters) Schreiber of Highland, Ill., his father, Michael L. (companion, Jan M. Luebbers) Schreiber of Carlyle, Ill.; his sister, Kay D. (James) Williamson of Highland, Ill.; his maternal grandmother, Mary Ann, nee Henrichs, Tebbe of St. Rose, Ill.; his paternal grandparents, Leonard G. and Lucille C., nee Carrillion, Schreiber of Pierron, Ill.; his nephew and niece, Brett N. Williamson and Claire D. Williamson, both of Highland, Ill.; girlfriend, Jayne L. Kues, of Damiansville, Ill.; his aunts and uncles, Vincent (Gail) Tebbe of St. Rose, Ill., Francis L. Tebbe and Diane E. Tebbe, both of Maryville, Ill., Martin J. (Kris) Tebbe of St. Rose, Ill., Gina (Dave) Stopher of Maryville, Ill., Donald J. (Carrie) Schreiber of Pierron, Ill., and Joseph R. Schreiber of Greenville, Ill.; his cousins, Theodore J. "T.J." Tebbe, Garret Tebbe, Alison Tebbe, Haley Tebbe, Abigail Tebbe, Rebecca Schreiber and Andrew Schreiber; extended family members, Dan Allan, Rachel Allan, Alysa Allan and Alise Allan, all of Avon, Ohio; Eric (Wednesday) Walters of McAllen, Texas, Todd Walters of San Diego, Calif., Raelyn Luebbers, Denver Luebbers and Jason Grawe, all of Carlyle, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home, Highland, Ill. A parish wake service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral: Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, Ill., with Father Edward Schaefer officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Highland, Ill.
