Jeanne Dobbs

Jeanne Catherine Dobbs, nee Ulrich, 88, of Swansea, Ill., born Nov. 1, 1927, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.

Mrs. Dobbs retired as a secretary at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows. She was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, and also a member of the Belleville-Swansea Women of the Moose.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dobbs, whom she married on July 2, 1949; a son, William Dobbs; her parents, August and Edna, nee Pangel, Ulrich; and a brother, Donald Ulrich.

Surviving are three sons, Douglas (Susan) Dobbs of St. Louis, Mo., Daniel Dobbs of Nashville, Tenn., and Terrence Dobbs of Grapevine, Texas; four grandchildren, Derrick, Dustin, Laura, and Kelly Dobbs; and a sister, Dorothy Christenson of Hecker, Ill.

Memorials may be made to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows or to St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill, with Msgr. William McGhee officiating. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
