Jennie Clanahan, nee Calza, 98, entered into rest on Thursday, March 3, 2016.
Beloved wife for 61 years of the late James V. "Virgil" Clanahan. Beloved mother of Karen Clanahan, Dr. Jim (Lynne) Clanahan and Beth Clanahan. Dear grandmother of Michael, Julie and Kristine Clanahan and twins, Viktor and Alexander Sime; "second mother" to devoted caregiver Andrea Abbott; and loving "Mom" to four-legged daughter, Ruby.
Jennie and her late husband lived in Herrin, Ill., for many years before moving to south St. Louis County in 2001 to be closer to children and grandchildren. The daughter of Italian immigrants Giovanni and Caterina Calza, Jennie was a dedicated and much loved junior high and elementary school teacher for over 25 years. In addition to her children, her passions were reading, her pets and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons (South County), 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, Mo.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the funeral home. Committal service will be at 1 p.m. at the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, Ill.
