Joan M. Spencer, nee Bruske, 82, of Fairmont City, Ill., born Oct. 21, 1933, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Jan. 28, 2016, at Elmwood Nursing and Rehab, Maryville, Ill.
Joan was a graduate of St. Teresa Academy in 1950. She was employed at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Fairmont City for 20 years. Joan was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Mother's Club of Holy Rosary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Spencer, Sr.; her parents, Joseph and Julia, nee Krekovich, Bruske; her sisters, Joyce Robinson, Jeanette Bruske and Victoria Murray; her niece, Linda Fabiano; her brother-in-law, Albert Spencer, Sr.; and her sister-in-law, Leona Spencer.
Surviving are her children, Robert J. (Paula) Spencer of Silvis, Ill., Diane (Wayne) Horner of Fairmont City, Ill., and Terrance Spencer of Fairmont City, Ill.; her grandchildren, Lindsey Spencer of Hoffman Estates, Ill., and Kelly Spencer of Columbus, Ohio; her sister, Mary (Mark) Zajac; and her brothers-in-law, William Murray and William Robinson, both of Troy, Ill. Joan is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made in the form of masses to Holy Rosary Church, Fairmont City, Ill., or Heartland Hospice.

Visitation: Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill., with Father James Buerster officiating. Interment will be held in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
