John H. Centunzi, 85, of Columbia, Ill., born May 21, 1928, in St. Louis, Mo., passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
John had retired as a manager from Aramark Uniform, St. Louis, Mo., and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, Ill., and the Columbia Gymnastic Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Augustino and Irene, nee Winterbauer, Centunzi; sister, Martha Benz; a stepson, Douglas Creason; and a great-great-grandchild, Cayden Mathew Fortner.
Surviving are his wife, Paula, nee Sanders, Centunzi, whom he married on Jan. 14, 1965, in St. Louis, Mo.; his children, Rita (Riley) Goodwin of Caseyville, Ill., Theresa (Mark) Donovan of Ballwin, Mo., John Jr. (Vivian) Centunzi of Stanton, Mo., Martin (Sandra) Centunzi of Lampasas, Texas, and Wade (Wanda) Creason of Overland, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Tracy Creason of Des Moines, Iowa; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Anna Addis of Grand Island, Fla., Marie Cave of St. Louis, Mo., and Irene "Dolly" Centunzi of Columbia, Ill.; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral: Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday Jan. 14, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, Ill., with Father Gary Hogan officiating. Interment will follow in the Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia, Ill.
