John Edward Ketchum, 57 years young, born July 8, 1958, in Red Bud, Ill., finally embraced heaven's gates on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill., with family by his side.
His father, Albert Allen Ketchum Jr., mother, Elizabeth Lillie Ketchum, and brother, Paul Allen Ketchum all finished their race to the pearly gates before him.
He left behind a family legacy including his sisters, Anita Zinn and Ruth Dianne Kay (Daryl); his sons, Wayne and Trent (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Molly, Amy, Emily, and Elijah; and his wonderful wife, Lisa. John married his amazing wife Lisa Gilmer in 2010, and had the great joy of celebrating life with her sons, Clint and Chris, and enjoyed special time with her grandson, Lucas.
For decades, John successfully owned and managed his own concrete finishing business alongside his faithful crew, including Mike McFeron and his son, Wayne Ketchum. After the concrete trucks pulled away; his real life passions were laughing, loving God, loving people, and spending time with his family. John would work these passions around all of life's activities including great food, coffee, antiquing, hunting, and motorcycle rides.
