Joyce Fritz

Joyce Alice Fritz, nee Stein, 83, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.

Joyce was a member of Prayer Group and Women's Group at Grace Baptist Church. She and her girlfriends had a Domino Group that she started; and was a member of Trenton Women's Club. She was an active and vibrant woman until God took her home to be with Him.

Joyce Alice Stein was born to Emil and Alice, nee Quitmeyer, Stein on Sept. 20, 1933, in Chicago Ill. She was raised in Trenton, Ill. Her family moved to Centreville, Ill., and she graduated from Dupo High School. She married her High School sweetheart, Richard

W. Fritz on Aug. 26,1953, in East St. Louis, Ill.. Their twin daughters, Cathy and Christy were born while Rich was stationed at Norfolk Naval Station in Virginia. Their son Kenneth was born in Highland, Ill.

Rich and Joyce were happily married for 62 years and taught others about lasting love. They enjoyed their life and their family and friends. She was active in her church and community. Joyce's life revolved around her family. She was devoted to her husband; and made everyone feel special. She was a source of comfort and love to her family, friends and everyone she met.

People gravitated to her like bees to honey. She delighted in her grandchildren, Sara, Ryan, and Dylan; and her great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil Stein and Alice Stein Becker; her in-laws, Richard and Edith Fritz; her sister-in-law, Victoria Fritz; her brother-in- law, Larry Heatherly; and her son-in-law, Ted Haller.

Surviving are her husband Richard W. Fritz; her children, Cathy Haller, Christy Witte (Dwaine), and Kenneth Fritz; her grandchildren, Sara and Dylan Witte, Ryan Haller; her great-grandchildren, Emma, Abigayle and Lucas Haller, Chloe Malin, and Ruthie Swafford; her sister, Elaine Heatherly; and her nephew, Bruce (Patti) Heatherly.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Grace Baptist Church, Trenton, Ill.

Service: A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016, following the visitation at the church. A Luncheon to be served at St. John UCC in Trenton, Ill., following the Memorial Service.
