Joyce D. Brokman, 85, of Granite City, Ill., born Oct. 13, 1930, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away at 10:20 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2016, at the Edwardsville Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Joyce retired in 1986 from the Granite City School District 9 after 16 years of dedicated service as a cook. She attended St. John United Church of Christ in Granite City and the music dancing club at the Collinsville VFW.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford C. Brokman; and her parents, Marion O. and Beatrice J., nee Baughn, Hodge.
Surviving are four children and their spouses, Ronald and Karen Swesey, Charles Swesey and Marge Kalal, Gregory Brokman, and Pamela J. and Frederick Stein Jr.; six grandchildren, Amanda Stein, Amy Stein, Jennifer Stein, Pamela Scarpino, Tricia Wilson, Lauren Gaddy and John Swesey; three great-grandchildren, Jackson Scarpino, Matthew Scarpino and Olivia Gaddy; and other extended family and friends.

Visitation: In celebration of her life, memorial visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon, Ill.
Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016, at the funeral home with Rev. Gary Steffaniak officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Glen Carbon, Ill.
