Julia Lorraine Joshu, nee Kress, 85, of Greenville, Ill., born on Aug. 31, 1928, in East St. Louis, Ill., died at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at her home.
Mrs. Joshu grew up in East St. Louis, Ill., and moved to Greenville briefly after her marriage. She and her husband then moved to Granite City, Ill., in 1959 and then back to Greenville in 1975. She and her husband operated a meat processing business for many years. She taught junior league bowling for 10 years and was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Francis and Julia, nee Strait, Kress; a granddaughter, Angela A. Briggs; and an brother, Albert Francis Kress Jr.
Surviving are her husband, Robert L. Joshu, whom she married on April 30, 1949; son, Robert W. (Julia) Joshu of Coldspring, Texas; daughter, Patricia A (Ronald Sr.) Briggs of Granite City, Ill.; brother, Charles Richard (Jayne) Kress of Caseyville, Ill.; sister, Winifred Delores (Thornton) Opperman of Fairview Heights, Ill.; four grandchildren; and on great-grandchild.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Greenville, Ill.
Funeral: Service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Greenville, Ill. Interment at 12:15 p.m. Thursday in Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Ill.
