Karen M. Flak, 55, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Belleville, Ill., born Jan. 13, 1961, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Feb. 3, 2016, at her residence.
Karen was a retired school teacher.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward F. Flak; and her brother-in-law, Mark R. Remke.
Surviving are her mother, Gertrude C., nee Bihss, Flak; her sister, Joann G. Remke of Roselle, Ill.; her nephews, Michael R. (Brandie) Remke of Wheaton, Ill., and James E. Remke of Roselle, Ill.; and her great-nephew, Graham E. Remke of Wheaton, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.

Visitation: Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill.
Funeral: A funeral procession will leave Kassly Mortuary at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fairview Heights, Ill., with Father Ray Schultz officiating. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
