Kurt Hoerz, 49 of Swansea, Ill., born April 10, 1956, in Cologne, Germany, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006.
Mr. Hoerz served in the United States Air Force, the Army Reserve, and the National Guard. He was a Vietnam War veteran. He was on the Swansea Zoning Board, president of the Amateur Radio Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Christa, nee Fransel, Hoerz.
Surviving are his son, Ryan Hoerz of St. Peter's, Mo.; his daughter, Kimberly Hoerz of Belleville, Ill.; Michael (Rachel) Maggio of Belleville, Ill.; a step-brother, Val Fransel of New Jersey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hoerz children.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral procession will leave at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, from George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10 a.m. at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill., with the Rev. Jim Long officiating.
