Larry Dorris Kinzel, 69, of Marissa, Ill., born Nov. 10, 1946, in St. Louis, Mo., passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill., with his family by his side.
Mr. Kinzel was a truck driver. He was a United States Navy veteran. Larry was a member of Tri County Bass Anglers Club. He was an avid NASCAR fan and especially enjoyed racing at the dirt track in Belleville. Larry also enjoyed fishing and trap-shooting. He was also involved with Marissa Cub Scout Pack 327.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Elaine, nee Bagby, Kinzel; his uncle and godfather, Dorris Kinzel; and two brothers-in-law, Kevin Kearns and Danny Lehr.
Surviving are his son, Shane (Carrie) Kinzel of New Athens, Ill.; stepdaughter, Kim Hamm of Steeleville, Ill.; daughter, Brandi (Brian) Brown of Belleville, Ill.; three step-grandchildren, Mallory Moore, Gunnar Moore and Drake Burrows; brother, Dennis (Diane) Kinzel of Marissa, Ill.; two sisters, Debbie Ostergaard of Marissa, Ill., and Vickie Kearns (fiance, Eddie Brueggemann) of Sparta, Ill.; five nephews, Brian (Debbie) Kinzel, Sage (Desaree) Lehr, Kevin (Heather) McDonald, Tyler (Jessica) Kearns and Brad Kinzel; two great-nephews and four great-nieces.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff of Memorial Hospital and Unity Hospice of Greater St. Louis.

Funeral: Memorial services will be held at noon Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, Ill., with Rev. Jack Spratt officiating. Interment will be held in the Marissa Township Cemetery in Marissa, Ill.
