LaToura Heck

LaToura A. Heck, nee Adams, 92, of Belleville, Ill., born Aug. 31, 1924, in Paragould, Ark., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, at her residence.

Mrs. Heck was a registered nurse which she practiced at St. Louis City Hospital and St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Belleville. Her other community involvement included Past President of both the League of Women Voters and the Belle Valley Mother's Club as well as a member of the National Organization of Retired Federal Employees. Above all she loved time spent with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren H. Heck, whom she married on Aug. 31, 1943; her parents, Earl E. and Jenny S., nee Wood, Adams; a son, Gerald Heck; a daughter, Claudia Rogers; a granddaughter, Chelse T. Driemeier; and a sister, Anita Lindsey.

She is survived by a son, Norman Heck of Belleville; a daughter, Karen (Roy) Sodam of Belleville; a granddaughter, Jennifer Summers; three grandsons, Bradly Sodam, Matthew Heck, and Joshua Heck; a cousin, John (Vickie) Beckwith; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, 3412 Frank Scott Parkway West, Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., with Pastor Robert Dyer officiating. Interment will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
