Laura M. Card, nee Kimmle, 94, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born October 2, 1921, in O'Fallon, Ill., passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 in St. Charles, Mo.
Laura was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Fairview Heights, Ill. She was a night nurse in the pediatric unit at Christian Welfare Hospital, from 1955 to 1963. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in St. Charles. She was a loving and caring woman, who donated time, effort, and financially to her church, city, family and friends. She was honored by the Fairview Heights Police department for a financial donation that resulted in the first dash board camera, for a Fairview police cruiser. She also contributed to her church, helping them to install a handicapped accessible restroom. She enjoyed playing pinochle, bingo and doing jigsaw puzzles and crosswords. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon D. Card; her parents, Adam and Linda, nee Lurtz, Kimmle; a brother, Harold Kimmle; and a sister, Flora Meddows.
Surviving are her children, Beverly (Marvin) Monday of St. Charles, Mo., Edward (Mary) Card of Wentzville, Mo., and Dennis (Celeste) Card of Jarrettsville, Maryland; her 10 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral: Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
