Leila Stolze Hartman, nee Schade, 98, of Belleville, Ill., born July 17, 1918, in Perryville, Mo., died Friday, August 12, 2016, at The Apartment Community of Our Lady of the Snows, Belleville, Ill.
Mrs. Hartman was a homemaker. She also was a switchboard operator for Shell Oil Refinery in Roxana, Ill., before her marriage.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence L. and Isabelle, nee Seemes, Schade; her first husband, Paul Stolze, whom she married on April 25, 1940, and who died on July 30, 1970, and a brother, Norbert Schade.
She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Hartman, whom she married on February 21, 1976; a daughter, Mary Ann (Richard) Noce of Aurora, Ill.; three stepsons, Michael (Janet) Hartman of Evansville, Ind., John Hartman of New York, N.Y., and Daniel (Shannon) Hartman of Seabrook, Texas; two stepdaughters, Ann (Steve) Stolte of Edwardsville, Ill., and Jane (Russell) Twaddle of Columbus, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Service: A rosary will be said at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016, at the Shrine Apartment Community Chapel.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016, at the Shrine Apartment Community Chapel, Belleville, Ill., with Fr. Joseph Ferraioli officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Edwardsville, Ill.
