Leona Virginia Rose Griffin, nee Bayer, 94, of Granite City, Ill., born Oct. 20, 1921, in Granite City, Ill., passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016, at Fountain View Manor, Granite City, Ill.
She retired as a supervisor in 1986 from Motorola after 30 years of dedicated service. She was a dedicated member of Hope Lutheran Church in Granite City. She loved her years spent living in Phoenix, Ariz., and enjoyed her days of quilting. She was a generous and giving person and loved her many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry S. Griffin, whom she married in 1942, in Jacksonville, Fla., and who preceded her in 2003; four sisters and a brother, Helen Kudelka, Dorothy Kowalk, Eleanor Sparks, Hattie Luella Bayer and George Bayer.
Surviving are a sister, Alma Barnhart of Arkansas; nieces and nephews, Barbara Phelps,
Charles Bayer, Robert Bayer, John Kudelka, Scott Kudelka, Chuck Burnett, Jesse Burnett, Jeffery Burnett and Jimmy Barnhart; many great-nieces; great-nephews; and other extended family and friends.
Memorials may be made to Hope Lutheran Church, Granite City, Ill.

Visitation: In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, Ill., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Hope Lutheran Church, Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at the church, with Reverend Alan Beuster officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, Ill.
