Lloyd C. Pieper, 86 of Maryville, Ill., formerly of Cahokia, Ill., born Jan. 21, 1930 in Nokomis, Ill., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016.
He was a retired aircraft mechanic for McDonnell Douglas, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. After retirement, he worked for Schumacher Service in Belleville, Ill. He attended Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, Ill. He loved to play bingo with his wife, Mary; enjoyed buying and selling antiques, dining at buffets, and loved desserts, but most of all, he loved being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard J. and Mary E., nee Whittmore Pieper; a granddaughter, Kellsie Lynne Marchbanks; three brothers, Oscar, Alvin and Jim Pieper; and a sister, Tootie Saatkamp.
Surviving are his wife, Mary, nee Neighbors, Pieper, whom he married May 7, 1955; three daughters, Mary "Christy" Ingram of Champaign, Ill., Cindy (David) Lorentzen of Collinsville, Ill., and Gail (Danny) Marchbanks of Maryville, Ill.; a son, Matt (Lisa) Pieper of Monticello, Ill.; 13 grandkids; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Ernest (Mary Ann) Pieper of Deer Park, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, Ill., and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, 2016 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, 2016 at the church with Father John Beveridge, celebrant. Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Edwardsville, Ill.
