Lucille L. Hencke-Hartlieb, 78, of Highland, Ill., born Aug. 31, 1937, in Bond County, Ill., died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, at Legacy Place in Highland, Ill.

She married Vernon R. Hencke in 1955. They divorced and he passed away in 1992. On May 08, 1997, she married Lester Bernard "Les" Hartlieb who passed away on March 17, 2002.

Lucille was born in Burgess Township near Pocahontas, Ill. She grew up there and attended Marti and Britt School, a one room school house, through eight grade. She graduated from Highland High School in 1954. After her first marriage, she and her husband lived in Highland, and she worked at East End Mercantile and Tschannen's Ben Franklin. She then worked at Highland Manor, now Faith Countryside Homes, for 20 years. She retired in 1995. She and her second husband traveled to Florida and the Western United States. They enjoyed visiting her grandchildren and visiting casinos. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and was a wonderful cook.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester B. "Les" Hartlieb; parents, Erwin L. and Lena L., nee Kohler, Iberg; first husband, Vernon R. Hencke; grandchild, Danielle L. Sherman; sister, Mabel Zobrist; brother, Murl E. Iberg; and brother-in-law, Nelson Zobrist.

Surviving are her son, Ken R. (Sheryl) Hencke of Edwardsville, Ill.; daughters, Kathy L. (Brad) Sherman of Greenville, Ill., Sue L. (Luke) Wellen of Highland, Ill., and Pam M. (Don) Stalcup of Highland, Ill.; grandchildren, Matthew C. (Elizabeth) Sherman of St. Louis, Mo., Chelsey M. Schneider, Sydney S. Wellen of Highland, Ill., Travis T. Schneider of Pocahontas, Ill., Brent D. Stacup of Highland, Ill, and Wesley E. Sherman of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Luella (Harry) Bohle of Greenville, Ill.; and sister-in-law, Delores E. Iberg of Greenville, Ill.
