Mabel M. Lane, nee Rainwater, 94, of Granite City, Ill., born April 13, 1921, in Dover, Tenn., passed away at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, at Fountain View Memory Care in Granite City, Ill.
She was a faithful member of Johnson Road Baptist Church in Granite City, Ill., and enjoyed her days of attending Dewey Avenue Methodist Church and Gospel Mission in Granite City, Ill. She had a special love of quilting, trout fishing and playing cards. Family was very important to her and she cherished her special times shared with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lane, whom she married Sept. 22, 1945, in Granite City, Ill., and who passed away May 23, 2011; her parents, William and Deloris, nee Settle, Rainwater; a daughter, Brenda Faye Burlison; a son, Eddie Ray Lane; a granddaughter, Melissa Burlison; and three brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are a granddaughter and her husband, Michelle and Terry Mims of Maryville, Ill.; two great- grandchildren, Taylor Mims of Maryville, Ill., and her fianc‚, Brandon Fuller of Granite City, Ill., and Brendan Mims of Maryville, Ill.; a son-in-law and his wife, Edward and Barb Burlison of Granite City, Ill.; a brother, Charles Rainwater of Granite City, Ill.; two brothers-in-law, Ralph Lane of Granite City, Ill., and George Wright of Collinsville, Ill.; many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

Visitation: In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Irwin Chapel with Rev. Larry Blankley officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, Ill.
