Manuel Lopez, 83, of Granite City, Ill., born June 17, 1932, in St. Louis, Mo., passed away at 12:34 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, at John Cochran VA Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Lopez was a dental technician for over 50 years. He was a Korean war veteran serving as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the KofC Council 1098, American Legion Post 581 Columbia, Ill., and the St. Louis Polka Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Antonia, nee Rosales, Lopez; sister, Margaret Arguello; and brothers, Joe "Ezzie" Lopez, Raymond Lopez and Jessie Lopez.
Surviving are his wife, Geraldine J., nee Owca, Lopez, whom he married on Oct. 15, 1966; daughter, Victoria Reno of Belleville, Ill.; grandchildren, Cory, Brandon, Abigail, and Nicole Reno; brothers, Louis Lopez and Joseph (Gertie) Lopez of St. Louis, Mo., and Frank Lopez of Highland, Ill.; brother-in-law, Chester Owca of Granite City, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be given to the St. Elizabeth Church.
Visitation: Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Father Chris Comerford officiating. Burial will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Fairview Heights, Ill.
