Marcella "Marcie" Grace, nee Barber, Uhl, 85, formerly of Belleville, Ill., born April 22, 1931, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Tuesday, May 31, 2016, in Sarasota, Fla., of a cerebral hemorrhage.

Marcie was married for nearly 66 years to the love of her life, George M. Uhl. Throughout her married life, she traveled extensively in North America and Europe with George, family, and friends. She was also active in clubs and service organizations, including the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, PEO Chapter HR, and the United Methodist Women. After retiring in Sarasota, Fla., Marcie became an avid golfer. She loved the performing arts, reading, conversing, cooking, entertaining, and gardening, and was admired for her pie-baking skills. She was a homemaker and had worked as an administrative assistant at Belleville East High School for 10 years.

She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her four grandchildren, Nicholas (Laura) Uhl, Andrew (Tessie) Uhl, Amanda (Kyle) Rensing, and Aaron (Ashley) Uhl, and six great-grandchildren, Liam and Alana Uhl, Bobby and Scarlett Uhl, and Kyan and Bryson Rensing, were the joys of her life. At the time of her death, she was happily awaiting the births of two more great-grandchildren.

Marcie was predeceased by her parents, J. B. and Esther, nee Grace, Barber.
