Margaret Eftink

Margaret "Marge" L. Eftink, nee Ameln, 83, of Cahokia, Ill., born May 26, 1933, in St. Louis, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, at St. Mary's Hospital, Richmond Heights, Mo.

Mrs. Eftink was a retired secretary for Holy Family Catholic School in Cahokia, Ill. She was a member of Holy Family Parish in Cahokia and was an avid bingo player.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Margaret, nee Suedkemp, Ameln; and two sisters, Patricia Murphy and Diana Ameln.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Andrew "Andy" Eftink, whom she married on November 19, 1955; her six children, Annette (Joe) Walaszek, Theresa Eftink, Steve (Teresa) Eftink, Vincent Eftink, Matthew (Andrea) Eftink, and Christine (Shannon) Kitchen; and ten grandchildren, Jeffrey, Brandi, Lindsay, Jessica, Rebecca, Sarah, Christopher, Paul, Johnathan, and Daniel. She was a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, Cahokia, Ill. Condolences may be expressed online at braunfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, at the Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Ill. with a Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m.

Funeral: Funeral procession will leave at 9:40 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, from the funeral home to Holy Family Catholic Church, Cahokia, Ill., for a 10:00 a.m. mass with Father Linus Umoren, Father Paul Wienhoff, and Father Jerry Heckenberger concelebrating. Funeral procession will leave at 9:15 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, from Holy Family Catholic Church for burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
