Marian Niehaus, nee Knebel, 91, of St. Jacob, Ill., born October 3, 1925, in Pierron, Ill., died Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at Highland Healthcare Center, Highland, Ill.
She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, Ill. She was a seamstress and liked to cook. Marian loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was devoted to her husband. She lived the farm life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Rose, nee Wagner, Knebel; her husband of 61 years, Marvin Niehaus, whom she married February 20, 1954, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, Ill., and who died July 6, 2015; and brothers, Nelson Knebel and Raymond Knebel.
Marian is survived by her son, John (Dana) Niehaus of Troy, Ill.; grandchildren, Allisen Niehaus, Aaren Niehaus, and Austen Niehaus; sisters-in-law, Henrietta Knebel of Trenton, Ill., Arline Fohne of O'Fallon, Ill., and Bernice (Leonard) Dickerson of Collinsville, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Education Foundation.
Visitation: Friends may visit from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, Ill.
Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, Ill., with the Rev. Pat Jakel officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
