Marie Hulda Tockstein, 89, born Dec. 21, 1926, in East St. Louis, Ill., rejoined her heavenly family on Sunday, March 6, 2016.
Marie was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Centerville, Ill., for many years until its closing in 2007. Her passion for teaching was easily shown by how beloved she was by her students within the Cahokia School District until her retirement in 1991. Marie was known for her physical energy and social activity. She was very active with the Alumni of St. Theresa Class of 44, Ladies Ancient Order of the Hibernians (LAOH), and the Reunion Club of Immaculate Conception Church. Marie was an active resident of the various activities that occur at the Community of the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows. She demonstrated her love for her God, her family, and her friends in many, many unselfish acts.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marie, nee Enteman, Tockstein; her sisters, Beatrice "Betty" Mackin and Virginia Tockstein; and a brother-in-law, William M. Mackin.
Surviving are her nephews, William (Susan), Robert (Lesa), and Terry Mackin (fiancee, Colleen); her great-nieces, Laura (Bryan) Sylvester, Katie (Guillermo) Dellgardo, Jayme (Terry) Mackin, Jenna (Matt) Bellus and Cara Mackin; her great-nephews, Travis Robinson, Keegan and Corey Mackin; and her great-great-nephew, Connor Embry; and numerous cousins and many friends.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:15 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, at The Apartment Community at Our Lady of the Snows, Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: A memorial Mass will be held at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, at The Apartment Community at Our Lady of the Snows, Belleville, Ill. Committal will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
