Mark Paul Hill, 63, of Imperial, Mo., born September 8, 1952, in Wood River, Ill., passed away at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, at St. Anthony's Health Center, St. Louis, Mo.
He was employed by the United States Government with over 20 years of dedicated service as a carpenter in historic restoration.
The United States Army veteran proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of two Purple Heart Medals.
He loved his days of fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Lou, nee Fraser, Hill; his wife, Jody, nee Whitaker, Hill; and a brother, Jay Hill.
Surviving are his father, Harry William Hill; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Christopher and Kelly Hill of St. Peters, Mo., and Nathan Hill of Imperial, Mo.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Melissa and Gary Gray of Brighton, Ill., Sarah Sutton of Cedar Hill, Mo., and Megs and Eric Boone of Imperial, Mo.; twelve grandchildren, Christian, Cameron, Carter, Tyler, Mary, Michael, Dominic, Emily, Grace, Jackson, Adaya, and Jesse; four brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Kathleen Hill of Granite City, Ill., Michael and Laurie Hill of Farmersville, Ill., Timothy and Kim Hill of Cuba, Mo., and Donald and Tawna Hill of Granite City, Ill.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice and Ralph Justice of Duncansville, Texas, and Kathy and Donald Byrd of Granite City, Ill.; his former wife, Sandee Hill of Belleville, Ill.; many nieces; nephews; and other extended family and friends.

Visitation: In celebration of his life, visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, Ill., with Rev. Charles West officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
