Marvin Wellen, 81, of Trenton, Ill., born Aug. 2, 1934, in Trenton, died Friday, June 3, 2016.
Mr. Wellen worked in accounting for Union Pacific Rail Road. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Trenton. He was an avid cyclist, and particularly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Bernadine, nee Rolves, Wellen; and a brother, James Wellen.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann, nee Atwood, Wellen, whom he married on June 1, 1957; two sons, Craig (Estrellita) Wellen of Fairview Heights, Ill., and Todd Wellen of Osteen, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jason (fiancee, Sara) Wellen, Jennifer (Matt) Schulte and Landon Wellen; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Austin Schulte; his brothers and sisters, Delores (Gerald) Ernst of Bellevue, Iowa, Bernette (the late John) Dilley of Trenton, Orville (Doris) Wellen of Washington, Mo., Clara (James) Seiffert of Carlyle, Ill., Robert (Mary) Wellen of Trenton, and Ralph Wellen of Trenton; and two sisters-in-law, Patricia (Harry) Cavanaugh of Gillespie, Ill., and Cheryl (Rick) Christ of Trenton.
