Mary H. Mathes, nee Krzykowski, 67, of Cahokia, Ill., born Nov. 11, 1948, in Syracuse, New York, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Mary was a retired school secretary for Cahokia Unit School District 187. She was an avid scrap booker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Katherine, nee Smirco, Krzykowski; and a daughter, Mary Beth Bennett.
Surviving are her husband, Perry "Butch" Mathes, Jr.; her children, Christopher (Tina Natonick) Bennett of Wood River, Ill., Ray Bennett, II of Mattoon, Ill., and Katherine "Katie" (Matthew) Chrapek of Arnold, Mo.; two stepchildren, Timothy (Joyce) Mathes of Waterloo, Ill., and Dolores "DJ" Mathes of Red Bud, Ill.; a sister, Irene (Joseph) Winters of Bernhards Bay, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren, Hailey, Natalie, Megan, Sadie, Blake, Ashley, and Brielle. She was a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday Jan. 29, 2016, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at the funeral home with Father Linus Umoren officiating. A private cremation will follow.
