Mary "Aileen" Sarga, nee Muffo, 87, formerly of Washington Park and Caseyville, Ill., born Oct. 11, 1928, in East St. Louis, Ill., went to be with the Lord on Jan. 8, 2016, at Oak Hill Nursing Home in Waterloo, Ill., while surrounded by her family.
Aileen was an active member of the Concord Presbyterian Church in Waterloo, Ill. She enjoyed cooking, being outdoors, and traveling. Her greatest moments were those she spent with her family, especially during the holidays. Aileen was an inspiration to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Elizabeth, nee McLain, Muffo; her loving husband of 36 years, George A. Sarga in 1986; five brothers, John, Paul, Carmen "Jim", Thomas, and William; and a sister, Ann Ashbury.
Surviving are two daughters, Virginia (Robert) Downing of Belleville, Ill., and Betty (Michael) Dietz of Waterloo, Ill.; four grandchildren, Kenneth (Carol) Downing of Belleville, Ill., Rebecca (Richard) Brewer of Belleville, Ill., Samantha King of Columbia, Ill., and Amanda (Trevor) Gahn of Waterloo, Ill.; three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ella and Elise King; a sister, Josephine (Chester) Bays of Terre Haute, Ind.; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Muffo of Sebring, Fla., and Mary Muffo of New Athens, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, at Lake View Funeral Home in the chapel. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
