Matthew Alan Rush, 49, of Belleville, Ill., born May 19, 1961, in Winthrop, Mass., died Tuesday, Mar. 22, 2011, at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Matthew was a retired SMSGT from the U.S. Air Force and a Gulf War veteran. He worked at Headquarters Air Mobility Command at Scott AFB as Chief of Terminal Instruments Procedures Branch.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Rush.
He is survived by his parents, John and Jacqueline, nee Reilly, Rush of Revere, Mass.; three children, Christopher Rush of Brighton, Colo., Tyler Rush of Belleville, Ill., and Savannah Rush of Belleville, Ill.; two brothers, John Rush of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mark (Yanni) Rush of Derry, N.H.; a sister, Andrea (Lawrence) Melanson of Winthrop, Mass.; nieces and nephews, Jacob, Nicholas, Reilly Rush, and Michael, Andrew, Lorenzo, and Christina Rush; and many friends.

Funeral: Memorial services will be held 5 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011, at Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, Ill., with Monsignor Jerome Hartlein officiating. Funeral procession will leave at 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2011, from Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, Ill., to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo., for a 10:30 a.m. military graveside service.
