Melanie Montalvo-Joellenbeck, 55, of Belleville, Ill., born Dec. 24, 1960, in New York, New York, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016, at the deGreeff Hospice House, St. Louis, Mo.
Melanie worked for 33 years as an Office Manager at Industrial Marketing, Inc. (Slay Industries). She was a member of Faith Family Church. Some of her loves were traveling, the St. Louis Cardinals, ice cream, candy and desserts. Mel was a very courageous woman who battled cancer for 12 years. She
will forever be remembered as a very loving and generous person who was a friend to all.
Ms. Montalvo was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Melania, nee Laguna, Montalvo.
Surviving are her daughter, Olivia Joellenbeck; a brother, Steven A. Montalvo of Puerto Rico; two sisters, Victoria (Victor) Goicoechea of Belton, Mo., and Bonita Underwood of Belleville, Ill.; a niece, Angela (Sean) Conner; a great-niece, Serena Conner; and a great-nephew, Charles Conner of Lawrence, Kan.

Services: A Memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, July 16, 2016, at the funeral home, with Rev. Gary Hinrichs officiating.
