Melva Moore

Melva Lee "Pat" Patrick Moore, 87, born Oct. 21, 1928, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., passed away peacefully Monday, April 18, 2016, at her home. She was surrounded by her family in a room filled with love.

She was active for over forty

years in the baptist church as a Sunday school teacher and various other women's activities in the church.

She leaves a legacy of love, quiet strength and generosity of herself to others. She had unconditional love for her husband, two children, five grandchildren, ten great- grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter, and a great-great-grandson on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Virginia Patrick.

Survivors include her husband of more than 68 years, W.F. "Frank" Moore, whom she married after he returned from World War II where he was a Navy Veteran; a son, Dennis Moore and wife, Tricia; a daughter, Janice Van Houter and husband, Scott; five grandchildren, Steven Moore and wife, Michelle, Kathleen Chambery and husband, John, Lesley Sarsfield and husband, Eamon, Melinda Snyder and husband, Andrew and Melissa Luft and husband, Ben; 11 great-grandchildren, Brianna, Stephanie, Emily, Andrew, Bradley, Jonathan, Austin, Jacob, Jackson, Holly and Lucy; and two great-great-grandchildren, Madilyn and Wyatt.

The family would like to thank Embrace Hospice and First Light for their exceptional tender and loving care in her last days.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016, at the funeral home, with Pastor J.R. Matthews officiating. Burial will be held privately.
