Michael Payeur

Michael L. Payeur, 67, of O'Fallon, Mo., born Sunday, Feb. 6, 1949, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Michael was retired from Local 309 IBEW and had worked as a journeyman wireman for Guarantee Electric for 29 years and an electrical inspector for the city of Fairview Heights. He was a member of Gothic Lodge 852 AF&AM, Ainad Shrine, and past president of the Krazy Klowns. Michael was a United States Navy veteran serving in the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Luetta, nee Keller, Payeur; brother, Russell Payeur; and nephew, Paul Tharp.

He married Debbie Beaumont Kolakowski on April 20, 1985, and is also survived by his two children, Adam Kolakowski of Belleville, Ill., and Megan Kolakowski Anderson (Todd), his five grandchildren, Jackson, Carson, Piper, Chase and Ian Anderson, all of O'Fallon, Mo.; brother, Steven Payeur of Seattle, Wash.; sisters, Suzanne (Dale) Ternaprovich of Belleville, Ill., and Jeanine (Gordan) Dunn of Altoona, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Christine Payeur, Steven M. Payeur, Rachel (Craig) Motsinger, Alex Ternaprovich, Marty (Julie) Payeur, and Michael (Lisa) Tharp; and beloved cats, Tootsie and Trixie.

Funeral: A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill. Private family interment will be held.
