Michael A. Tolden, 58, of O'Fallon, Ill., passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at Queeny Tower in his private room at BJC in St Louis, Mo.
Mr. Tolden was very well-liked by his colleagues, Kappa
Alpha PSI Fraternity, Inc., Masons and Shriners. He was devoted and dedicated to his community with caring, sharing, love and pride. He was very out spoken, humorous, and called one of the "Best Teachers" in the district. Other students knew him as "Unc" (Uncle) because of his compassion and love for children. He was a very outstanding teacher of social studies and he made teaching "fun". For 35 years he made an impact on the lives of many children. He was one of Martin Luther King School activity organizers, assistant track coach, who's who among teachers and railroad safety award. He had many other accomplishments and achievements.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his lovely and devoted wife, Sandra Faye Floore-Tolden; daughters, Kimberly (James Route) Swift-Route and Nakeesha Tolden; a son, Michael DeJuan (Andrea Austin) Tolden; a sister, Ardella (Charles) Tolden-Lovelace; brothers, Maurice (Elaine) Tolden and Paul (Irene) Tolden; grandchildren, Jaylan, Chauncy, Madison and Michael; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation: Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 22, 2006, at House of Pray to all Nations, 5501 North Park Dr., Washington Park, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, April 22, 2006, at House of Prays All Nations, Washington Park, Ill.
