Nancy Mueller Talenski, 79, of Apex, N.C., born July 29, 1936, in Collinsville, Ill., passed away peacefully on Monday, July 18, 2016, at her home.
Nancy graduated from Collinsville Township High School in 1954 with honors. After graduation, she worked for Dow Chemical as a secretary for top level management. She then married Mel (USAF) and moved to Salina, Kan., to work as secretary for one of the largest law firms in Kansas. After discharge from the U.S. Air Force, Nancy and Mel moved back to Collinsville, Ill., to start their family. Because of Mel's work they moved to Raleigh, N.C., New Orleans, La., Raleigh, N.C., Tulsa, Okla., and Atlanta, Ga. Nancy was very active in church work, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, organizing the library system in Lawrenceville, Ga., and many more civic projects. Upon retiring, Nancy and Mel moved to Hendersonville, N.C., and traveled to Japan, Great Britain, Germany, France, Switzerland, Hawaii, the Pacific NW, Alaska, Canada and Nova Scotia.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Francis J. "Zeke" and Marion J., nee Euno, Mueller.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Melvin H. Talenski; brother, Jack (Jeanne) Mueller of Caseyville, Ill.; daughters, Katherine T. Wood of Winder, Ga., and Peggy T. (William) Skirball of Holly Springs, N.C.; son, Matthew S. Talenski of Winder, Ga.; three grandchildren, Michael J. (Sandra) Wood, Timothy J. (Casey) Wood and Zachary A. Wood; and two great-grandchildren, Malachi and Micah Wood.

Funeral: Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Mount Pisgah Lutheran Church in Hendersonville, N.C.
