Nettie Mae Meyer, nee Mathis, 79, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born Dec. 23, 1936, in Stewart County, Tenn., died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at her residence with her family by her side.
Nettie enjoyed camping, gardening, canning her vegetables, traveling different places, especially visiting Tennessee to play in the creek with her grandchildren, and trout fishing, but her most precious moments were those spent with her grandchildren. She loved being known as the "Demo lady" at Crossmark/Sam's. Nettie Mae was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Riley and Mary Edna, nee Watkins, Mathis; her husband, Robert L. Meyer; a brother, Charles Mathis; and a sister, Linda Osborn Miller.
Surviving are her daughters, Roxanne (Terry) Bynum and Beth (Roger) Strong; grandchildren, Forrest (Lauri Forness) Bynum, Kadie (Bill) May, Sara (Ben Arnett) Bynum, Dean (Katie) Hillen, Kelley (Matt) Geralds, Christina Meyer, and Blair (Patricia) Strong; great-grandchildren, Aubrey May, Dirk Bynum, Bryce Friedrich, Jacob Knapp, Graham Hillen, Grace Geralds, Faith Geralds, and Owen Geralds; her siblings, Martha (Frank) Howard, Betty "Tootsie" (Marvin) Turner, Pete (Eveaughan) Mathis, Larry (Brenda) Mathis, Ida Shafer, and Ruby Mathis; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; especially her best friend and cohort of mischief, Mrs. Betty Burrelsman.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Ill.
Funeral: Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
