Nick Kraus Obituary
Nick Kraus

Nick Kraus, "Niko" to his friends, 18, of Swansea, Ill., born Tuesday, Sept. 3, 1996, in St. Louis, Mo., was lifted into the arms of Jesus by the loving hands of his Aunt Leslie and Grandfather Henry on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, due to automobile accident injuries suffered the afternoon before.

Nick was a graduate of Belleville East High School and was to start college next week. He excelled in playing his guitars, enjoyed Brazilian jujitsu and judo, working out at the "Y" and swimming. Nick's goal, and he just knew it was achievable, was to be a Navy Seal. He also took pleasure in reading (including his bible) and sketching.

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Leslie, nee Hansen, Jones; grandfather, Henry Lawrence Jones; great-grandparents, John and Dollie Shore, and Rosel and Catherine Ramsey.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his parents, Guy and Sheri, nee Jones, Kraus; loving younger sister, Olivia "Livy"; devoted grandparents, Don and Dorothy Kraus and Johnnave and "grandpa Hoo" Houston Handley.

Sadly missed by aunts and uncles, Daryl Jones, Amy and Brian Medley, Rod and Jill Kraus, and Donna and Paul Luebbers; and great-aunt, Josephine Jones.

Never to be forgotten by loving and close cousins, Augie Luebbers, Allison and Joe Kraus, Cameron and Madeline Medley, Ryan (Lindsay) Jones, and Danielle (Chris) Nordman; and many great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and extended family.

All who had the pleasure of knowing Nick will remember him as kind, funny, patient and soft spoken. As a child he was easy to cuddle, and our great joy to be part of his nurturing and growing into a wonderful young man. He was truly one of a kind. In keeping with the essence of his spirit and breath of continued life, Nick's organs were donated.

Memorials may be made to the Breast Cancer Research. Condolences may be expressed online at www.kurrusfh.com.
