Pauline A. Schmitz, 77, of Red Bud, Ill., born July 26, 1939, in Prairie du Rocher, Ill., passed away at 11:45 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Pauline had a career in home health care and retired as a clerk from Ace Hardware of Red Bud in 2014. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank N. and Carrie E., nee DuClos, Fogilphol; a sister, Loretha Kenny; and a brother, Patrick N. Fogilphol.
Surviving are her husband, Greg Schmitz, whom she married on Feb. 1, 1964, in Prairie du Rocher, Ill.; a sister, Wanda Honer of Prairie du Rocher, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home, Red Bud, Ill.
Funeral: A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Red Bud, Ill., with Msgr. Dennis Schaefer officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Prairie du Rocher, Ill.
