Philip G. Ohlendorf Sr., 77, of Freeburg, Ill., born Nov. 1, 1938, in Caseyville, Ill., died Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Highland Health Care Center, Highland, Ill.
Mr. Ohlendorf was a project engineer for the Nooter Corporation, St. Louis, Mo., before his retirement. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post, Freeburg, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Ohlendorf; his parents, Phillip B. and Louise, nee Mueller, Ohlendorf; and his father-in-law, Harry Gravlin.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Rita, nee Gravlin, Ohlendorf, whom he married on August 6, 1964; a son, Philip G. Jr. (Deborah) Ohlendorf of New Athens, Ill.; two grandchildren, Amanda Parker, and Emily Ohlendorf; a great-granddaughter, Candyce Parker; a sister, Sandra (Gordon) Butcher of Freeburg, Ill.; an uncle, Gus (Dolores) Ohlendorf of Minnesota; nieces; and a great-niece.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2016, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at George Renner and Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at the funeral home with Father Mark Reyling officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
