Ray J. Adams, 84, of Smithton, Ill., born Tuesday, April 7, 1931, in East Saint Louis, Ill., died Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at The Colonnade Senior Living Center, O'Fallon, Ill.
Ray worked as a business manager for Parks Air College. He was a former member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, E. St. Louis, Ill., former member of Toastmaster Club and former member of the Elks Club, and was a Korean Conflict veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Lola, nee Hales, Adams; his sisters, Evelyn G. Adams, and Addie Ruth James; and a brother, John Adams.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia, nee Nagel, Adams of Smithton, Ill.; his children, Nancy (Richard) Chapman of Dallas, Texas, Lori (Robert) Weilmuenster of Shiloh, Ill.. and Julia (Albert) Hammerman of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren, Kirk Weilmuenster, John Rogliano, Rachel Hammerman, and Brett Hammerman.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Reverend David Olson officiating. Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Ill.
