Ray Charles Probst, 92, of New Athens, Ill., born Sunday, Oct. 14, 1923, in Prairie DuLong Township, Ill., died Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, Ill.
Ray was a retired livestock and grain farmer. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Smithton Ill., St. Clair County Farm Bureau, the NRA, past member and officer of Broad Hollow Grange, National Grange, and past member and officer of St. Clair County Pomona Grange, and Illinois State Grange.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Margaret, nee Talbot, Probst; a brother-in-law; and a niece.
Surviving are his wife of over 69 years, Ida, nee Hammond, Probst of New Athens, Ill.; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; a nephew; and friends.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2016 at St. John United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Dr. C. Dwayne Dollgener officiating. Entombment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory Mausoleum, Belleville, Ill.
