Richard L. "Rick" Harvey, 46, of Belleville, Ill., born Jan. 12, 1959, in Alton, Ill., died suddenly Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, in Cooper County, Mo.
Mr. Harvey was a truck driver for Twin Lakes Trucking, East St. Louis, Ill. He was a member of St. Peter's Cathedral Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill., and American Legion Post 2910. Mr. Harvey was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He graduated from Civil Memorial High School in 1977 and attended classes at Southwestern Illinois College. He enjoyed watching and playing sports of all kinds. He played softball with the Belleville Parks and Recreation Softball League. Rick sang with the St. Peter's Cathedral Catholic Church men's choir. Rick also enjoyed spending time outdoors, playing with family pets, biking, hunting mushrooms, fishing with family and friends
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sheila, nee Simpson, Harvey.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn F., nee Gass, Harvey, whom he married Aug. 2, 2003; a son, Mitchell L. Harvey of St. Charles, Mo.; his father, Drexel (Chiquita) Harvey of Moro, Ill.; his stepmother, Mardelle Harvey of Bethalto, Ill.; a sister, Nanette (Bill) Galbraith of Alton, Ill.;
a brother, Brett (Cathy) Harvey of Livingston, Ill.; two nieces and a nephew, Justin and Amanda Galbraith, and Kasey Harvey;; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gorden and Mary Jane Gass of Granite City, Ill.; a brother-in-law, Jeff Gass of Granite City, Ill.; and a sister-in-law, Linda (Patrick) Burgess of Granite City, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill. A prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Funeral: Funeral procession will leave at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005, from George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter's Cathedral Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill., with Monsignor James Buerster officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hill Cemetery, Wood River, Ill.
