Richard Wade Chambers, 77, of Granite City, Ill., born July 25, 1938, in St. Louis, Mo., passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family.
Richard was the long time owner and operator of Reliable Gas and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Granite City Masonic Lodge 877 and a Shriner for over 40 years. In his free time, Richard enjoyed playing golf but most of all he loved to spend time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard W. and Alice L., nee Meyer, Chambers Roberts.
He is survived by and will be missed his wife, Carol, nee Johnson, Chambers; his son, Rick (Delores) Chambers of Madison, Ill.; his daughter, Mary (Charles) McCoy of Granite City, Ill.; grandchildren, Chelsea McCoy of Granite City, Illl., twins, Maddison McCoy and Rebecca McCoy both of Granite City, Ill.; and brothers, Jeffrey Chambers and Dennis Chambers.
Memorials are suggested to the Granite City Masonic Lodge 877.
Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, with a Masonic service to be held at 7 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: In celebration of his life, services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, Granite City, Ill., with Pastor Charles West officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Edwardsville, Ill.
