Robert Dick

Robert W. Dick, 86, of Belleville, Ill., born Nov. 1, 1929, in Belleville, Ill., died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at St. Paul's Home in Belleville, Ill.

Mr. Dick worked for Dick Dental Lab before his retirement. He was a member of St. Peter's Cathedral and belonged to the men's choir at the church. He also was a member of the Metro East Community Chorale. A member of the Reserve Officers Association, Bob was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 58.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne J. and Marguerite, nee Schrag, Dick; a sister in infancy, Barbara Dick; a brother, William H. Dick; and two brothers-in-law, Thomas and Robert Miller; and his beloved pet, Cheri.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 61 years, Julia E., nee Miller, Dick, whom he married on Nov. 20, 1954; three children, Barbara J. (Tom) Calhoun of Millstadt, Ill., James R. (Kathy) Douglas of Belleville, Ill., and Martha L. (Timothy) D'Agostino of Waukesha, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Ian and Stewart Calhoun, Anthony, Rebecca, Hannah, and Gregory D'Agostino, and Wayne Douglas; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Dick of Goreville, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at George Renner and Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, at St. Peter's Cathedral, Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, at St. Peter's Cathedral, Belleville, Ill., with Msgr. John Myler officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
