Robert "Bob" Eugene Calhoun, 69, suffered a heart attack and died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016 while on a hunting trip in Choteau, Montana.
Bob loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, being with his family, and playing with his beloved grandchildren. Bob graduated from Cahokia High School in 1965, and obtained a B.A. in History from Monmouth College in 1969. He loved to read books related to history and encouraged those around him to stay well informed and educated. Bob had a way of making everyone around him laugh and smile and brought a sense of playful mischief and fun to everyday life.
He was preceded in death by his father; Foster Eugene Calhoun and his mother Alice Jane Calhoun, nee Wagener.
Beloved father of Kelly Calhoun Edwards, father-in-law of Jim Edwards, grandfather of Abby, Hayley and Jimmy Edwards Jr., and loving companion to Gayla Sullivan; brother of Patrick Calhoun, Sandra Hagenbrock and Nancy Rogers; dear friend to Jenna, Levi and Jane Polk; nephew, uncle, great uncle, brother in law, cousin and friend to many.

Services: A celebration of Bob's life will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Missouri Botanical Gardens at the Spink Pavilion. All who knew and loved Bob are welcome to attend.
