Robert J. "Bob" Allard Sr., 78, of New Athens, Ill., born March 10, 1938, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, Ill.

Bob served in the United States Navy and later became a truck driver. He was a past fire chief in Tilden, Ill., for many years. He was very proud and loved those years. He also was a member of the Tilden Lions Club.

Bob and Janice Boze were united in marriage on July 2, 1960, in East St. Louis, Ill., and Janice passed away on Sept. 4, 1996. Bob later married Sharon Blitz on June 23, 2007, in Tilden, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Virginia, nee George, Allard; his first wife, Janice, nee Boze, Allard; a brother; and two sisters.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon Allard of New Athens, Ill.; two daughters, Pamela (Jim) Phelps of Sparta, Ill., and Alicia (Dara Bland) Allard of Steeleville, Ill.; three sons, Robert (Vivian Rodriguez) Allard Jr. of Sparta, Ill., Vance (Tracy) Allard of Glen Carbon, Ill., and Matthew (Ginger) Allard of Sparta, Ill.; a sister, Pat (John) Lekosky of Fairmont City, Ill.; a brother, Paul (Tama) Allard of Belleville, Ill.; twenty-nine grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; six stepchildren, Joe (Lisa) Hoffman of Marissa, Ill., Pamela (Hans) Rodgers of Washington, Mo., Stephanie Geralds of Marissa, Ill., Allen Hoffman of Marissa, Ill., Regina Ernsting of Marissa, Ill., and Sheila Hoffman of Red Bud, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016 and from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday, Oct. 7, 2016 at McDaniel & Lee Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Services in Tilden, Ill.,

Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2016 at McDaniel & Lee Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Services. Interment will be held at the Tilden Village Cemetery in Tilden, Ill.
