Robert Dean Squire, 91, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Columbia, Ill., born Jan. 2, 1925, in Shoals, Ind., passed away on March 18, 2016 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Jacksonville, Fla.
Robert was retired from the U.S. Postal Service in East St. Louis, Ill. He had served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He had belonged to the Day Lilly Club at the Missouri Botanical Gardens in St. Louis, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Kathryn, nee Austin, Squire; sisters, Ann Rehg, and Glenda (Joseph) Parres; stepfather, Clarence Jerome; nephew, Michael Parres; and a niece, Jeanine Rehg.
Surviving are his nieces, Kathy (Alan) Unger of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., and Sharon Ferro of Indian Wells, Calif.; great-nephews, Mason and Davis McDaniel, and Bradley and Andrew Elkan; along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Kristofer Avise-Rouse officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Evergreen Cemetery, Millstadt, Ill.
